PURPOSE: An electronic commerce system and a method using a bar code coupon and a mobile phone is provided to increase the number of members by enabling a mobile phone user to receive a discount coupon transmitted to a mobile phone and to purchase a product using the discount coupon downloaded. CONSTITUTION: A mobile phone user connects to a communication company server(S10) and a mobile phone service(S12). The user searches a discount menu(S14) and selects a product(S20). The user searches the menu by products and discount information(S18). In case that the user selects the product, a bar code coupon of the product selected is transmitted to the mobile phone of the user(S22). The user purchases the product and pays the price for the product(S24, S26).
