PURPOSE: An intercom having a guarding function is provided to be capable of confirming a visitor at the exterior in the case where no person exists in a house, monitoring the interior of the house, and preventing invasion of an outsider. CONSTITUTION: An outer intercom(20) is installed at the outside of the entrance(10). A camera(21) takes a picture of a visitor, and a microphone(22) inputs a voice of the visitor. A bell button(24) informs a visit according to operation of the visitor, and a sensor(25) senses the visitor. An inner intercom(30) is installed in the interior so as to communicate with the outer intercom(20). The inner intercom(30) includes a controller(31) for controlling the camera(21), the bell button(24) and the sensor(25), a monitor(32) for outputting an image signal from the camera, a key input part(33) for inputting information of a monitoring person, a transceiver(35) for communicating with the visitor, a door lock releasing part(36) for selectively releasing a door lock(16), and a recorder(37) for selectively recording and reproducing the image and voice from the monitor(32).
