PURPOSE: A system and method providing a discount coupon using the Internet is provided to induce a person to join to a web site and to increase the number of visitors. CONSTITUTION: A coupon providing server(20) is provided for a discount coupon to a web site visitor. The coupon providing server(20) is a user terminal for connecting to a specific web site through the Internet(10) and provides a discount coupon without a member joining process. The specific web site is a web site provided by the coupon providing server(20) or a web site provided by a specific web server(40) being linked to the coupon providing server(20). The coupon providing server(20) comprises a network interface(21) for connecting to the Internet(10), a server processor(22), a timer(23), a memory(24) and a large-sized capacity hard disk(25). A coupon issuing process program for performing a general process of a coupon generation is loaded to the memory(24) and is executed by the server processor(22). The hard disk(26) includes a coupon database(27) and an advertisement database(28).
