METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING RARE EARTH MAGNET

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing rare earth magnet is provided to improve a magnet characteristic of the rare earth magnet and prevent an outbreak of fire by reducing an oxygen content of powder. CONSTITUTION: Production of a R-Fe-B rare earth metal magnet comprises pressing a rare earth metal alloy powder having an oxygen content of 4000 wt.-ppm or less by dry compressing method under pressure to form a molded body; impregnating the molded body with an oil agent on the surface of the molded body; and sintering the molded body. The average size of the rare earth metal alloy powder is 10 μm or less and is kept in an inert gas atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 5000 vol.-ppm or less until the powder is poured into the hollow chamber of a press to form the molded body.
