PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with such a special circuit for thread cutting and a program change for every thread cutting as are required in an existent thread cutting device adapted to work based on a spindle speed command. SOLUTION: For a thread cutting operation by a main spindle, a speed command to the main spindle is converted into a position command, and the position command value of the position command to the main spindle is corrected to time the start of the thread cutting.
