PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of surface treatment for a brake shoe that can produce a brake shoe of high corrosion resistance even when using a stainless steel material with a high iron content. SOLUTION: The method of surface treatment for a brake shoe subjects a stainless steel material to electropolishing treatment as the first step, and next subjects the electropolished stainless steel material to chromium-plating treatment as the second step.
