PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide double-coated tapes which have an object to release, separate, and recycle a double-coated tape for members bonding a large surface and have firm adhesion so as not to be released under normal conditions and, are easily separable when dipped in water for a predetermined time. SOLUTION: The water releasable double-coated tapes for the separation of materials have (A) a water soluble pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on one side of a 50μm to 600μm-thick nonwoven fabric base material containing at least one type of synthetic fibers of a polyester, polypropylene, polyethylene, and a nylon and (B) a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer whose major component is an acrylic ester copolymer on the other side of the base material, and only the portion of the base material of 5 to 30% in thickness being impregnated with respective layers (A) and (B).
