The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner comprising an exhaust fan (22) whose vacuum stream (30) is drawn into a working chamber (15) of a housing (2) via a suction channel (14). A rotatably driven cleaning roller (12) is located in the working chamber (15) above the suction channel (14). The vacuum stream (30) is guided through an affluent channel (28) into a dust collection chamber (18) of the housing (2) and is fed from the dust collection chamber (18) to the suction connection (26) of the exhaust fan (22) using a discharge channel (29). A dust bag (31) contained in the dust collection chamber (18) can be accessed by opening a housing cover (5). The invention aims to improve access to the parts of the vacuum cleaner which require the most maintenance, whilst retaining a simple construction. To this end, the working chamber (15) and the dust collection chamber (18) are adjacent to one another, the working chamber (15) being open on approximately the same side as the dust collection chamber (18). The dust collection chamber (18) and the working chamber (15) are closed by a common housing cover (5). |
