PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the noise transmitted from a sheave device installed in a hoistway to the inside of a car and a landing. SOLUTION: A return wheel 27 supported on a top support beam 24 is covered by a sound insulation cover 29, and a sound insulation duct 30 surrounding a main rope 6 is connected to a rope taking in and out port of the sound insulation cover 29.
