PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a floor maternal having an irregular pattern each color of which changes like a stream, wherein an outline of the pattern is not broken even when the pattern is thin and having excellent strength and durability. SOLUTION: An intermediate material 6 of a predetermined shape having a flowing pattern is formed by heating a mixture of 2 or more thermoplastic resin colored pellets 1 and extruding the mixture under an incomplete kneading state. The intermediate material 6 is then pulverized into pieces of a desired size and the pulverized pieces 61 of the intermediate material 6 are laid in a uniform thickness and heated to the extent that the outline of the pattern does not vanish whereby to give a sheet.
