PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an amide derivative represented by the general formula (1) by which skin roughness is prevented and treated by permeating into the lipid layer between corneocytes to ameliorate (maintain and reinforce) the ability of holding moisture in the keratin layer or the barrier function, scalp roughness is prevented and ameliorated by permeating into the hair to increase the protective effect and ameliorating the hair touch, fine solubility to bases or excellent formulation stability is given and further cosmetics or the like can be efficiently and inexpensively produced. SOLUTION: This cosmetic is obtained by including the amide derivative represented by the following general formula (1) [wherein, R1 is a 4-22C aliphatic hydrocarbon residue, R2 is a 1-6C alkylene group and R3 is a 1-6C alkyl group, respectively].
