PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of realizing a sheet reversing mechanism and the double-side recording with a compact and simple structure, and stabilizing the color of front and back surfaces of a sheet. SOLUTION: A typical structure of this image forming device comprises an image processing means for recording or reading an image to a sheet, a sheet holding means mounted on a position opposite to the image processing means, a sheet holding conveying part for conveying the sheet in the sheet holding means, a U-shaped path conveying means for conveying the sheet to the sheet holding conveying part, and a sheet feeding means for feeding the sheet to the U-shaped path conveying means, the sheet holding conveying part can convey the sheet in the reverse direction, and is movable at least between the downstream and the upstream of the U-shaped path conveying means, and the U-shaped path conveying means conveys the sheet conveyed from the sheet holding conveying part to the sheet holding conveying part again.
