PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of stably exhibiting washing power by control for obtaining water supply balanced with the ability of a washing pump. SOLUTION: This dishwasher is provided with a washing tank 2 for housing objects to be washed, a washing nozzle 3 and the washing pump 4 for washing the objects to be washed, a water supply valve 6 for supplying washing water to the washing tank, a water level detection means 7 for detecting the water level of the washing tank and a controller 11 as a control means for controlling the washing means and the water supply means, etc. The controller 11 changes a water supply amount by controlling the water supply valve corresponding to standard or strong power which is the pressurizing ability of the washing pump 4 by the signals of the water level detection means 7. Thus, the control is performed to a washing water level optimum for the washing power of the washing means at all times and the washing power is stably exhibited.
