PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of properly executing the imprint printing at all times while preventing an inkjet-type nozzle head from being electrostatically charged by the fed paper. SOLUTION: In this image reader comprising an inkjet-type imprinter 9 in addition to a scanning head 8 mounted on the way of a conveying path of the paper P, the conveying path of the paper P is formed just in the upstream of the imprinter 9, a static-elimination brush 10 is mounted by utilizing an electrically earthed guide 4, and the paper P is projected into the imprinter 9 after the charged static electricity is eliminated from the paper P by the static-elimination brush 10 for preventing the electrostatic charging of a nozzle head 9c of the imprinted 9.
