<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a carrier carrying titanium dioxide used in the production of an absorbent for absorbing/removing NOx from ventilation gas, an the like, discharged from a road and a tunnel in which, in a process for making the carrier such as ceramic paper be impregnated with titanium dioxide sol, the amount of titanium dioxide to be carried is increased, and the titanium dioxide is carried uniformly. SOLUTION: In the method, in the process for making the carrier be impregnated with the titanium dioxide sol, at least one of citric acid, oxalic acid, and nitric acid which suffocate the gelation activity of the surface of titanium dioxide and simultaneously accelerate the gelation of the titanium dioxide sol which is penetrated into the porous carrier is added into the carrier. Next, in each titanium dioxide impregnation process, the carrier is turned over and immersed. Next, in a process after the porous carrier is impregnated with the titanium dioxide sol and suspension-cut, the carrier is laid horizontally.
