PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for controlling a printing apparatus and an information-recording medium which fit to print characters and figures with the utilization of machine glazed papers without waste. SOLUTION: This controlling apparatus receives a printing request from an application, generates a printing command from the received printing request, receives near end information indicative of whether or not the printing apparatus is in a near end state, transmits the generated printing command to the printing apparatus, integrates an amount of the paper fed by the printing apparatus according to the transmitted printing command after the received near end information indicates that the printing apparatus is in the near end state, and stops transmitting the printing command in the transmission process when the integrated amount of the fed paper reaches a predetermined marginal length.
