PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine tool that can lessen various problems of a complicated linear guide mechanism for moving a tool and a workpiece relatively, and is simple in construction, easily manufacturable and inexpensive. SOLUTION: A first swing body 14 that can be pivotally indexed about a first axis 16 is mounted with a spindle head 24 being capable of feeding in the direction parallel to the first axis 16, and a second swing body 15 that can be pivotally indexed about a second axis 17 parallel to the first axis 16 is mounted with a work mounting jig 30. The first and second swing bodies 14 and 15 are pivotally indexed by servomotors 21 and 22, until concentrically aligning a main spindle 27 rotated on the spindle head 24 by a drive motor 28 and an arbitrary machining place on a workpiece fixed on the jig 30, on the turning locus of the main spindle 27, whereupon a feed motor 26 is driven to feed the spindle head 24 in a reciprocating manner so that a tool T machines the workpiece.
