Apparatus for extracting a pile from the ground includes a drive mechanism (2) and a first conduit (1) adapted to be inserted into the ground by the drive mechanism (2) around a pile (35) to be extracted. The apparatus also includes earth removal means (4, 7, 30) that is operable to remove earth from within the first conduit when the first conduit (1) is inserted into the ground. An extraction member (20) has engagement means (21) engageable with a pile (35) to be extracted to remove the pile (35) from the ground when an upward force is applied to the extraction member (21). |
