PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food waste composition suitable as a feed and an organic fertilizer and a method of producing the same. SOLUTION: The food waste composition is composed of a mixture containing food wastes and a water-absorptive fibrous material being a treating agent. The food wastes are, e.g. cooked rice, bean curd refuse, vegetable wastes, fish wastes, and wastes from restaurants and convenient stores. The water-absorptive fibrous material is, e.g. a wood pulp fiber or a bagasse pulp fiber in the cotton- like and/or a short fibrous form. Further, an antibacterial agent, a deodorant, an extending agent, a protective agent or an antioxidant can be incorporated as a treating agent in the composition. Furthermore, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide or the like can be incorporated as an agent for improving flow property. The method of producing the food waste composition comprises forming a lumpy mixture, or further drying/crushing the granular mixture to obtain a finely crushed mixture. The food waste composition can be used as a feed, a feed raw material, an organic fertilizer and an organic fertilizer raw material. |
