PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing the core loss of a nonoriented silicon steel sheet. SOLUTION: The nonoriented silicon steel sheet has a composition consisting of, by mass, <=0.005% C, 1.0-4.0% Si, <=2.0% Al, 0.1-1.5% Mn, 0.5-3.0% Cr, <=0.0020% S, <=0.0030% N, <=0.0020% O, <=0.0015% Zr and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and satisfying Si+Al>=2.0%. In this steel sheet, when I(100) and I (111) represent the respective ratios of the intensities of the X-ray reflecting surfaces of the 100} and the 111} orientation, in the plane at a depth one-fourth the sheet thickness from the surface of the steel sheet, to the random texture, respectively, the relation of I(100)/I(111)>=1.20 is satisfied. |
