<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a looper for rolling mills with which the moment of inertia of the rotary part of a machine which is joined to a motor is reduced as small as possible and the responsiveness of the rotation control of the motor is effectively improved. SOLUTION: This looper is an electically powered looper 5 provided between a front rolling mill 1 and a rear rolling mill 2 and, by making a looper roll 6 rotatably support between the tips of a pair of tiltable arms 7 which are fixed to a rotary shaft 9 driven with the motor 11 on both sides of a looper table 8, the total moment of inertia of the motor 11 and the rotary part of the machine joined with the motor 11 is reduced.</p> |
