PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for preparing a high quality polymer with reduced white foreign materials in the preparation of a nylon 6 copolymer which usesε-caprolactam and a dicarboxybenzenesulfonate compound as main raw materials. SOLUTION: In the preparation of a nylon 6 copolymer by polymerizing anε-caprolactam aqueous solution which containsε-caprolactam, a dicarboxybenzenesulfonate compound and a diamine compound, theε- caprolactam aqueous solution contains (1) a salt of the dicarboxylic acid and the diamine and/or (2) an aminocarboxylic acid.
