PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce operation steps in a binding machine. SOLUTION: The binding machine 10 is equipped with a supply equipment of binding fabric 4 having binding fabric loading platform 41. A reflection type optical sensor 81 is arranged on the fabric-loading platform 41 and hands of an operator are detected by the reflection type optical sensor 81 when putting binding fabric M2 on the fabric-loading platform 41. When the reflection type optical sensor 81 detects the hands of the operator, processing calculator 90 decides that the binding fabric M2 is put on the fabric-loading platform 41. The processing calculator 90 controls a cutting equipment 43 or a binding fabric transporter 42 based on the decision. The binding machine 10 is also equipped with a timer 91 and when the timer 91 counts up, the processing calculator 90 decides that the binding fabric M2 is put on the fabric-loading platform 41.
