PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a large amount of an organic waste at a low cost. SOLUTION: An organic waste in an amount of 0.05-1 wt.% is compounded into coal for coke making and is charged into a carbonization chamber of a coke oven to be carbonized together with the coal for coke making; otherwise, an organic waste alone is dehydrated and filtered in advance and is charged into a carbonization chamber of a coke oven to be thermally decomposed.
