PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate assembling work of a recording apparatus by reducing a length of a cable for connecting a recording head and a control substrate. SOLUTION: This printer has a printer body in which a sub sheet transfer route 60 is formed in front of a sheet guide 22 supported by a pair of a left side frame 16 and a right side frame 17, with a recording head 18 and a control substrate 62 being disposed at positions mutually opposite to the sub sheet transfer route 60 and connected by a flexible flat cable 64 for transmitting record signals. A cable insertion path 65 is formed between the sheet guide and the right side frame in the printer, through which the flexible flat cable can pass detouring the sub sheet transfer route and a bottom sheet supply port and a front sheet supply port which communicates with the sub sheet transfer route.
