PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily construct a building with intermediate base isolation where the up-and-down movement of an elevator is hardly affected by the rolling of a building, without spending much time. SOLUTION: In this base isolation building composed of a lower structural part B1 and an upper structural part B2 relatively laterally movable to each other through a base isolation device M, and provided with a hoistway 4 of the elevator 3 continuously formed over the lower structural part B1 and the upper structural part B2, and a supporting frame 8 for supporting an elevator rail 6 at least on a story where the base isolation device M is installed in the hoistway 4, in a state that it is over the lower structural part B1 and the upper structural part B2, connecting parts of upper and lower ends of the supporting frame 8 with the lower structural part B1 and the upper structural part B2 are respectively bendable connecting parts 9 where the supporting frame 8 is rockably mounted to the lower structural part B1 and the upper structural part B2, and the elevator rail 6 is horizontally movably supported to the supporting frame 8.
