PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure feeding of paper including documents and recording sheets in a paper separation and feed part. SOLUTION: When a user sets a document and places paper on a document placement plane of a document table 1 after inserting the end of the document into a document insertion port O, if a step 1a is formed on the document placement plane, a wedge shaped auxiliary member 20 is installed on the step 1a to make a whole document placement plane flat to be the almost the same line L. This prevents the occurrence of operating force which collapses the document at its end with unnecessary component force on the placed document due to the existance of the step 1a, as conventional.
