PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a UV absorbing agent having a flavonoid (eriocitrin, glucocyldiosmin, naringin, hesperidin or the like) from a citrus as its effective component. SOLUTION: A flavonoid has an effect of absorbing both UV-A and UV-B, an effect of deleting an active oxygen and a free radical, and an effect of preventing skin inflammation, sun burn and aging. It is a water-soluble and highly-safe material. Consequently, it gives an excellent benefit when it is blended in a skin agent for external use, for example.
