PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To industrially easily obtain 2,6-dibromo-4-trifluoromethoxyaniline at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing 2,6-dibromo-4-trifluoromethoxyaniline, characterized by brominating 4-trifluoromethoxyaniline of formula (I) in the two-layered system of water with a water-insoluble organic solvent and isolating the 2,6-dibromo-4-trifluoromethoxyaniline of formula (II) without treating with a base.
