PURPOSE: A traffic information receiving method and apparatus is provided, which are suitable for receiving traffic information transferred in real time and display the received traffic information graphically. CONSTITUTION: A control part(60) enters a traffic information output mode by inserting a traffic map card(30) in a display means. In the traffic map card, there is installed an identification tag in which an identification code is printed according to an area in order to identify a user easily. A road network corresponding to the identification code is printed in the traffic map card, and a plurality of holes for displaying a traffic situation at multiple points are formed on the road network. After receiving a high frequency signal, DARC digital data is decoded from a radio signal in the high frequency signal, and traffic information related to the road network is separated from the digital data. There is a step of displaying respective points of the display means exposed through the holes corresponding the points of the road network, based on the traffic information.
