PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously manufacture a hot dip metal coated steel sheet by using a hollow pot. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the hot dip metal coated steel sheet by passing the steel sheet from below to above in a molten metal supply bath, upwardly pulling up the steel sheet stuck with the molten metal on its surfaces and wiping away the excess molten metal, a downflow molten metal receiving bath is disposed on the lower side in tight contact with the molten metal supply bath to accept the molten metal flowing down from the molten metal supply bath and further a device for blowing nonoxidizing gas to the steel sheet is disposed in the steel sheet pass aperture on the lower side of the downflow molten metal receiving bath to spray the gas below the temperature of the molten metal to the steel sheet.
