PURPOSE: An apparatus for attenuating the harmonic current of a motor is provided to improve the output of a motor by supplying AC power from a power supply unit directly to the motor, without going through a harmonic transformer, in the case of driving the motor in a full power mode without controlling the phases of AC power supplied to the motor. CONSTITUTION: A slide switch(34) comprises a contact(b) corresponding to a full power mode. A switching unit(21) supplies AC power, supplied from a power supply unit(10), directly to a motor(30), or through a harmonic transformer(20), as the contacts(a,b) of the slide switch(34) are connected or disconnected each other by a user's operation. The switching unit(21) is embodied as a micro switch(22), of which the contacts(h,i) are connected or disconnected each other as the contacts(a,b) of the slide switch(34) are connected or disconnected each other. The AC power supplied through a TRIAC from the power supply unit(10) is supplied directly to the motor(30), or through the harmonic transformer(20), according to the on/off operation of the micro switch(22).
