PURPOSE: A handle and extension pipe coupler of vacuum cleaner is provided to stably detach a handle from an extension pipe and to easily operate the detaching motion. CONSTITUTION: A handle and extension pipe combing device of a vacuum cleaner comprises: an extension pipe(140) having a locking protrusion(141) on the outer circumference of the end; a handle(130) combined with the end of the extension pipe; and an operating unit(170) rotatably and elastically joined with the end of the handle. The operating unit consists of: a flat body(171); a hook(172) coupled with the locking protrusion of the extension pipe; and an operating protrusion(173) formed on the body. Further, the combining device contains an edge portion(180) separated from the operating unit as much as a clearance, and an elastic member(181) elastically supporting the operating unit. To combine the handle and the extension pipe, the locking protrusion is contacted with the hook and the elastic member is compressed between the edge portion and the hook. When the locking protrusion is completely inserted into the hook, the hook is returned with the elastic member.
