PURPOSE:To suppress a reactive current to reduce the cost of equipment by controlling a switch simultaneously with the movement of a train and by applying power only to a propulsion coil having a constant physical relationship to a train position. CONSTITUTION:A U-phase propulsion coil series connected in series with propulsion coils Cul, Cur is connected with the U-phase power supply of a power converter via U-phase feeders Ful, Fur. Switching devices Dul, Sur are connected in parallel with the propulsion coils Cul, Cur. V-phase and W-phase propulsion coil series are connected in like manner. When a train-position transducer Pul detects a train T, a coil controller Dul acts on the switching device Sul of the propulsion coil Cul being in a predetermined position in the manner of corresponding to the position of the train so that electric current hitherto bypassing the coil is caused to flow through the propulsion coil Cul. Then, magnetic fields are generated in the propulsion coil Cul by currents flowing through respective phases and these magnetic fields are composed so that a shifting magnetic field is generated on a propulsion coil array. |
