PURPOSE: A method for producing processed food by adding heated cowpea to a kind of noodle, bread and fish cake is provided to serve the food having improved storage capacity and excellent elasticity and taste. CONSTITUTION: The method is characterized by the steps of: (i) heating cowpea starch to 50-80deg.C; (ii) mixing 1-5wt% of the heated cowpea starch with wheat flour, rice flour or raw materials of fish cake; (iii) kneading the mixture and forming into noodles, steaming into rice cake or baking into bread or preparing fish cake.
