PURPOSE: An optical fiber coating device is provided to maintain the coating liquid in an applicator as the stable state and to make the coating liquid viscosity in the applicator even by making the coating liquid viscosity in the applicator and the coating liquid viscosity in a coating liquid storing tank in accord with each other. CONSTITUTION: The optical fiber coating device includes a viscosity sensor(25), a temperature controller(26), a viscosity sensor controller(27) and a control portion(28). The viscosity sensor(25) outputs the viscosity data about the coating liquid in the coating liquid storing tank as a real time. The temperature controller(26) makes the coating liquid in the coating liquid storing tank in accord with the reference temperature by heating. The viscosity sensor controller(27) calculates the coating liquid viscosity from the viscosity data, which are input from the viscosity sensor(25), and outputs it. The control portion(28) calculates the reference temperature of the coating liquid for compensating the viscosity difference and sets up the reference temperature of the temperature controller(26).
