PURPOSE: A synthetic fiber having excellent wearing feeling as well as holding high buoyancy and fabric thereof are provided. Therefore, clothes prepared by using the synthetic fiber can be used as an ordinary dress and have a function of lifesaving equipment. CONSTITUTION: This high-buoyancy fabric is characterized in that it comprises high-buoyancy fiber in which it has a surface area 1.7 times or more that of a circular cross-section yarn having a diameter similar to the maximum diameter(R) of the circular cross-section yarn and a hollowed part(2) is formed in the longitudinal direction of fiber. Also it has a warps and wefts density of 250 strands/inch or more and is waterproofed and laminated with a polyurethane film.
