PURPOSE:To provide the steering reaction force generating device of a driving simulator performing a steering action with the feeling near that of an actual vehicle. CONSTITUTION:A steering angle detection section 28 detects the steering angle of a driving simulator and inputs it to a reaction force calculating circuit 48. The reaction force calculating circuit 48 has a restoring force calculating circuit 50 calculating the reaction force applied to a steering as the restoring force, a road face resistance calculating circuit 52 calculating the reaction force applied to the steering as the road face resistance, and a vibration calculating circuit 54 calculating the reaction force applied to the steering as vibration, and outputs of the calculating circuits 50, 52, 54 are added by an adder 56 and inputted to a servo controller 60. The servo controller 60 rotatively controls a servo motor applying the reaction force to the steering, and the same reaction force as that given when an actual vehicle is driven is applied to the steering when the simulator is operated. |
