PURPOSE: Animal feed containing simple polysaccharide is provided to improve the defecation condition of animals, to prevent diarrhea and to promote the growth. CONSTITUTION: Animal feed contains 0.04-2wt.% of solid-based simple polysaccharide. Polysaccharide solution includes glucose, fructose, sugar or a variety of oligosaccharides, and is refined as a high-purified polysaccharide by eliminating other saccharides by an ion exchange method or gel filtration method. Examples of the simple polysaccharide are levan, dextran, alternan, mutan and inulin. Levan is derived from sugar by using levansucrase. Levansucrase 2,000 units are added to 20L of 25% sugar solution, and the mixture is reacted at 4deg.C for 7 days. The sugar concentration produced in the reacted solution is 25%. |
