PURPOSE: A portable air conditioner is provided to use an air conditioner in a desired place and to concentrically cool and heat air the surrounding of a user. CONSTITUTION: A portable air conditioner has a small compressor(20) for compressing a refrigerant in the center of a cylindrical case(10) having many vent holes(10a,10b) on the side. Behind the compressor, a condenser(30) for condensing the high temperature and high pressure refrigerant compressed in the compressor is formed. Opposite to the compressor, an evaporator(40) for evaporating the refrigerant condensed in the condenser is formed. Front and rear output ports(13,14) for discharging air are formed in openable both ends of the case. Between the front outlet port and the evaporator and between the rear outlet port and the condenser, axial flow fans(50,60) for discharging air through the open ends of the case are formed. Upon operating the air conditioner, air flows into the case through the vent holes of the case via the axial flow fans. The inflow air is cooled in the part of the evaporator and is discharged toward a user through the front outlet port. The air is heated in the part of the condenser and is discharged through the rear outlet port. For heating operation, the refrigerant is reversely circulated. |
