PURPOSE: Multi-ply paper improved in bursting strength and compression strength by spraying starch with silicate alone or a mixture liquid of an organic-inorganic hybrid strength-improving agent is provided, which can obtain excellent interlayer adhesion and strength characteristic of a product as compared to treatment with starch alone. CONSTITUTION: In multi-ply paper prepared by spraying ungelatinized starch alone and binding a paper layer, silicate alone or a mixture of an organic polymer or pulp fiber is used as a bond strength improving agent between paper layers with starch. The silicate has a three-dimensional net structure, a mean particle size of 3 to 100nm and a specific surface area of 500 to 1,500m¬2/g.
