PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a thermal color filter is provided to selectively heat and harden a desired portion of a substrate provided with a color filter layer without wholly heating the substrate. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing a thermal color filter comprises the steps of; forming a black matrix on a substrate; tightly contacting a transcription film provided with a filter layer having a color selected among red, green, and blue onto the substrate formed with the black matrix; irradiating a laser beam on the transcription film to irradiate the color filter layer of the transcription film on the substrate; hardening the color filter layer by again irradiating the laser beam on the transcription film; and transcribing and hardening color filter layers with two or more colors on the substrate by repeatedly performing above steps.
