PURPOSE: A method for outputting call trace data in a switching system is provided to allow an operator to conveniently identify a trace result by collecting, arranging and outputting the trace result with respect to X.25 in an exchange using X.25 protocol. CONSTITUTION: On inputting a directory number or port of trace object by MMC, a trace command is delivered from MMS(101) to CTPM(201). It is detected that the directory number or port has been being registered, by accepting the delivered trace command and referring to a relation in the CTPM(201). If not, a designated directory number is registered. After registering the directory number or port, the corresponding relation is set. When a trace object event is generated in PSC(302), a system state message is outputted.
