The wall covering (1) consists of a preferably micro-porous decorative layer (5) made e.g. from glass fabric, non-woven material or paper with a pattern or motif (9), stuck to an insulating layer (7) of cotton or synthetic material by glue, thermal adhesive or other means. The covering can have a self-adhesive layer protected by a film which is removed before sticking it to the wall (3).
