The laser beam sweep system includes, a flexible stretched membrane (5) onto which the laser beam is projected and reflected to a focal point (4), twin pressure applicator for regulating the curvature of the membrane and a system for cooling the membrane. One part of the membrane curvature system applies pressure over the whole of it and the other applies a concentrated pressure. The overall membrane pressure applicator varies the pressure inside a closed chamber (8) delimited by the membrane. The concentrated pressure applicator is an electrical circuit (16) generating a DC voltage (17) or AC voltage between the membrane (3) and an electrode (15) adjacent to a central part of the membrane. The membrane cooling system includes a blower which projects gas onto a face of the membrane, the blower has a gas recycling circuit (10,11,12) for the gas in the closed chamber (8).
