SUBSTANCE: proposed belt conveyor has flexible belt closed on drum un vertical plane whose carrying run is arranged on supports and idle run is arranged over chute with bent off sides filled with compressed air. Chute is V-shaped in cross-section. Supports of carrying run are made in form of rollers. Guides in form of rollers are installed above edges of idle run. Width of chute is less than width of belt being chosen to provide equilibrium of belt curved upwards at preset value of gauge pressure in chute. Width of belt is chosen from equation b/B = gdeltagamma/p, where b is width of chute, m; B is width of belt, m; g is free fall acceleration, m/c2; delta is belt thickness, m; gamma is belt density, kg/m3; p is air gauge pressure in chute, Pa. Chute furnishes with device for delivering water designed for periodically removing spilled material accumulated in chute at self- cleaning of belt. Water supply device is installed before chute in upper part of conveyor along chute sides in its upper part. Angle of tilting of chute sides to horizon is set to provide washing off of spilled material to middle part of chute. EFFECT: improved efficiency of operation of belt conveyor, reduced metal usage. 5 cl, 4 dwg
