PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine and stabilize a laser wavelength in a wavelength stabilization system of a composite or step-shaped etalon laser. SOLUTION: By these unique method and device, the wavelength of laser output is obtained in the wavelength stabilization system of a composite or step-shaped etalon laser. A laser frequency is determined based on a signal from each etalon path in the system, thus compensating for the change in the optical characteristics of the etalon after a temperature change caused by the temperature change. The correction offset regarding the measurement frequency of the laser output is obtained according to a value measured by each etalon, and a value being stored to a lock-up table before. To accurately obtain the laser frequency, a frequency measured value is adjusted by the obtained offset.
