A pliable contact bandage (10) for placement over a wound site located an an y skin surface, is provided. The appara- tus includes a reopenable, flexible enclosure (12) adapted to receive a sour ce of heat or cold, and an adhesive (14a,14b) for mounting the pliable contact bandage on a skin surface. The source of heat or cold (3 2) is temporarily placed within the flexible enclosure and the pliable contact bandage is placed over the wound site in a heat conducti ng relationship. Typically, a hypo-allergenic adhesive (14a, 14b) is located along at least a portion of the periphery of the flexible enclosure. The periphery (13, 16, 17) of the flexible enclosure surrounds the wound site. |
