PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-side emitting fluorescent display tube that has a small number of components, simple structure, small thickness, easy assembling and small power consumption. SOLUTION: Anodes of rear substrate 32 are selected to emit light, 0 V is applied to the anode 351 through 355 when not selected, but 12 V applied when selected. Whereas -12 V is applied to the anodes 322 through 325 when not selected, but 0 V applied when selected. When anodes of front substrate 31 are selected to emit light -25 V is applied to anodes 351 through 355 when not selected, but 0 V applied when selected. Wereas -25 V is applied to anodes 322 through 325 when not selected, but 12 V applied when selected.
