PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner device capable of correctly and also easily setting an original in the case of reading an original image. SOLUTION: A plurality of laser diode arrays 9 and 10 which are parallel in the vertical and horizontal directions of a read area and also emit linear beams of light being almost parallel to the read surface are arranged vertically and horizontally. An image read area or a reference line for original mounting is displayed by the laser beams LS of a laser diode corresponding to the position corresponding to an area desired to be fetched by selecting the position. The original can correctly and also easily be set along the reference line.
